Office of Compliance
The Office of Compliance assists existing DPSCD compliance officers, departments, and all staff to comply with state and federal laws and regulations including but not limited to ESSA, Title II of the Americans with Disability Act, Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, IDEA, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.
The office provides district personnel with strategic guidance and management in creating processes and procedures to comply with district policies and legal requirements. It also provides best practices and training regarding compliance, and serves as an appeals body for complaints relating to compliance issues.
The mission of the Office of Compliance is to assist the Detroit Public School District Community in achieving its financial, operational and strategic goals while maintaining compliance with all associated laws and/or regulations.

Within the Office of Compliance, the Executive Director executes the roles and responsibilities of:
- Title IX Coordinator
- ADA Coordinator
- Web Accessibility Coordinator
- District-Wide Grievance Coordinator
